• January 3rd, a girl died from the attack of a scorpion and a worker was bitten by poison snake almost died.
• These sad events could have been prevented if the population had the knowledge of what to do to prevent these accidents and what to do when they happen.

AROS took the lead to educate three groups of local communities through an intervention by the Biology Department of UFBA (Federal University of Bahia):

1. Public and health officials of the municipality
2. Students, parents and adults linked to josias school
3. Aros Field Workers

• This event took place during four days of the visit of Teachers and post graduate students, where they presented to more than 1400 local people and children how to avoid accidents and how to act when events of this nature happen.
• After a survey of the preservation forest, an area of 2000 hectares of primary Atlantic forest, the researchers elevated the forest at the level of SANCTUARY, where animals confiscated or found in other environments by the authorities can be relocated to their natural environment in the property of AROS .They left 14 boar constrict in the jangle they were captured by the authorities.

Peralba Farm has become a SANCTUARY for reception of animals received by the Biology department of UFBA (Federal University of Bahia).

2020 Actions with the Family Agriculture Community

• Family Agriculture – Use of Agricultural Pesticides and Soil Nutrition Course of 12 Hours Family Agriculture – Clones of High Productivity Cassava 8-hour course, taught by the cassava specialist of the Embrapa de Cruz das Almas, scheduled for the second half of 2020.
• Family Agriculture – More Productive Clones of Cocoa Course of 4 hours, taught by specialist of CEPLAC de Valencia, scheduled for the second half of 2020.
• Family Agriculture – Horticultural Course and debate on Consumer Market Seeking instructor, and expected for the second half of 2020
